The delegation, including U.S. Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith, as well as U.S. Representatives Bennie Thompson, Trent Kelly, Michael Guest, and Mike Ezell, have outlined their reasons for supporting Key Field in a letter to Secretary Kendall.

Additionally, Meridian's favorable weather conditions and access to ample airspace make it an optimal environment for conducting large-scale exercises and mission-focused training, which are essential for generating readiness and staying competitive in the era of Great Power Competition.
