The purpose of the WORC Scholarship Program is to create and/or improve career mobility in the healthcare industry for individuals in the following six counties in southeast Missouri: Iron, Madison, Perry, Reynolds, St. Francois, and Washington. The WORC Scholarship Program will help regional residents obtain rewarding and livable wage jobs/professions or provide opportunities to advance to more challenging and higher paying professions in the healthcare industry. Participants will receive education, training (including on‐the‐ job training), and support services (i.e., tuition assistance) to guide them in a career path that will result in self‐sufficiency. Participants will take proficiency exams and/or complete required education and training programs designed to provide the skills and knowledge needed for work placement or advancement in the healthcare industry.
