Rep. Jason Smith, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 8th district, shared his perspectives on President Trump's early actions in office and the importance of maintaining tax cuts. Smith, who succeeded Jo Ann Emerson in 2013 and previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013, has been vocal about his support for policies he believes will benefit American families and businesses.

On January 27, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith stated via Twitter that "President Trump has only been in the White House for a week, yet has already done more to support working families than the previous administration did in 4 years."

Later that day, at 16:40 UTC, he expressed concerns regarding tax policy by urging congressional action on social media: "American small businesses, families, and farmers are depending on Congress to renew the Trump tax cuts. Congress should not kick the can down the road and delay relief for ALL Americans."

At 18:26 UTC on January 27th, Rep. Smith further highlighted President Trump's efforts by stating that "President Trump is already off to a strong start defending American workers, supporting American families, and strengthening our nation’s energy producers. The America First Golden Age is just beginning and will bring much needed prosperity to America."
