On June 2, 2022 Lt. Taylor Wallace made a traffic stop near Town and County Supermarket. Upon making contact with the driver Rhonda Trent, age 56, of Ava, MO and Kellie Trent, age 29, of Ava, MO. It was apparent that Kellie Trent was under the influence of a controlled substance. A subsequent search was conducted by Lt. Wallace and Sheriff Degase where methamphetamine was located in the purse of Rhonda Trent and methamphetamine and marijuana was found on the person of Kellie Trent. Both was transported to the Douglas County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
A warrant was issued for Rhonda Trent for Possession of a Controlled Substance with her bond being set at $500 cash only with twice weekly drug testing and a 7pm to 7 am curfew.
A warrant was issued for Kellie Trent for Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana with her bond being set at $500 cash only with twice weekly drug testing and a 7pm to 7 am curfew.
Both have recently bonded.
All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
