Rep. Jason Smith, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 8th district since 2013, recently shared insights on "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill" through a series of tweets. The bill aims to prioritize American families by introducing various tax-related benefits.

On May 15, 2025, Smith highlighted the bill's focus on family welfare by stating that it would "put American families first." He noted that the legislation plans to double the Child Tax Credit, cement the doubled guaranteed standard deduction, and increase the Death Tax exemption. According to Smith, these measures are designed to enable working families to retain more of their earnings. "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill puts American families first."

Later that day, Smith addressed another aspect of the bill concerning tipped workers in America. He pointed out that there are over four million Americans in this category and mentioned that the bill seeks to provide tax relief by eliminating taxes on tips. "Over 4 million Americans are tipped workers."

On May 16, 2025, Smith emphasized the pro-growth tax cuts included in the bill which aim to enhance economic growth and benefit American workers financially. He claimed that these measures would lead to an increase in real wages for American workers by $3,300. "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill implements pro-growth tax cuts."

Jason Smith was born in St Louis in 1980 and currently resides in Salem. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS degree and later earned a JD from Oklahoma City University.
