Rep. Jason Smith, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 8th District since 2013, has recently posted on his social media about several topics regarding the Trump administration. Smith, who succeeded Jo Ann Emerson, is actively engaged in policy discussions and often uses his platform to communicate his views.
On April 26, 2025, Smith conveyed his birthday wishes to the First Lady in a tweet stating, "Happy Birthday to our incredible First Lady @MELANIATRUMP! The American people are lucky to have you as @FLOTUS ".
Later in the month, on April 29, 2025, Smith commented on the initial period of the Trump administration. He mentioned in his tweet, "President Trump’s first 100 days in office have been 100 days of promises made, promises kept. Smith, now 42, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1980, and resides in Salem. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri in 2001, followed by a JD from Oklahoma City University in 2004. Prior to his congressional role, Smith served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013.
