Rep. Jason Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 8th district, has been vocal on various platforms about the economic growth potential tied to American industries and local businesses. Smith, who graduated from the University of Missouri and earned a JD from Oklahoma City University, frequently shares his views on policy matters affecting his constituents in Missouri.

On April 24, Smith expressed his gratitude to Missouri's Lieutenant Governor during a visit to the State Capitol for "Buy Missouri day." He described the event as an opportunity to witness the offerings of Missouri's producers and small businesses and highlighted the importance of legislative measures to facilitate business operations within the state.

Later that day, Smith tweeted about the impact of investments by former President Donald Trump, stating that “President Trump’s investment in American industries will create thousands of good-paying jobs and secure long-term economic growth for our country.” Smith's statements reflect his support for policies aimed at bolstering domestic economic resilience.

On April 25, Smith reiterated the significance of investments on Main Street as opposed to Wall Street. He shared his views on social media, emphasizing that "President Trump has secured historic investments in Main Street that will grow good-paying jobs here in America." Smith highlighted the Trump Administration's focus on policies prioritizing the well-being of local communities and job creation across the country.

Smith has been a member of Congress since succeeding Jo Ann Emerson in 2013 and brings with him experience from his tenure in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013. He was born in St. Louis and currently resides in Salem, Missouri.
