Rep. Jason Smith, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 8th District since 2013, recently took to social media to express his views on a series of issues concerning Democrats and the handling of international fraud rings. Smith, born in St Louis, Missouri in 1980 and currently residing in Salem, utilized his platform to criticize Democratic actions regarding taxpayer protection and fraud.On February 6, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith stated that Democrats did not attend a hearing focused on pursuing criminals but instead held a press conference criticizing former President Trump. He wrote:

"It’s no wonder that instead of showing up on time for today’s hearing on going after these criminals, Democrats instead held a press conference to complain about President Trump."In another tweet from the same date, Smith criticized President Biden's response to international fraud rings during a crisis. He claimed that although President Biden had pledged action against these criminals, he ultimately failed to deliver results. According to Smith:

"As a result, international fraud rings seized benefits Americans sorely needed amidst a crisis. President Biden said he would go after these criminals but ultimately did nothing."Furthering his critique of the Democratic party's performance, Smith emphasized their alleged failures in protecting taxpayers and accused them of using government power against citizens. He concluded by stating:

"Every one of these public facts reflects Democrats’ embarrassingly terrible record. At best, they have consistently bungled their responsibility to protect taxpayers. At worst, they've weaponized government against every American. Americans deserve better."
