Rep. Jason Smith, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 8th district, has shared several opinions and reports on social media concerning national leadership and government operations. In his recent tweets, he discusses topics ranging from trade relationships under former President Trump to issues related to IRS security during the Biden administration.

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith praised former President Donald Trump's handling of international trade relations. He stated that "President Trump has already done an excellent job using our trade relationships to put America First." He further commented that "America finally has a leader on the global stage."

Later on the same day, Rep. Smith highlighted concerns regarding IRS system security during the Biden administration. Citing an inspector general report from August 2024, he noted that "over 5,000 contractors who aren't even full-fledged IRS reporters had access to sensitive IRS systems."

In another tweet posted simultaneously, Rep. Smith criticized the response to a significant breach involving tax records theft by a contractor aligned with Democrats. He remarked that "the Biden Admin faced no criticism from Ways and Means Democrats for prosecuting a fraction of his crimes and seeking the minimum sentence."
