On February 5, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith criticized the Democratic Party's past actions while they were in charge. He stated: "The last time Democrats were in charge: They leaked the private taxpayer data of President Trump and even a minor child for political purposes. They leaked the Social Security Numbers of multiple Trump cabinet members."

Later that day, at 22:05 UTC, Smith expressed support for former President Donald Trump by announcing an upcoming legislative initiative. He posted: "One big, beautiful bill coming right up, Mr. President @realdonaldtrump"

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Smith commented on what he described as Democratic concern over Elon Musk and Dogecoin's involvement in auditing federal government activities. He remarked: "The Democrats panicking about @elonmusk and @DOGE auditing the federal govt all voted to have the IRS investigate you for sending $600 on Venmo."
