On January 23, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith tweeted about President Trump's actions on energy policy: "On Day 1, President Trump unleashed our prosperous energy industry and supported American energy workers. We are READY to restore American energy dominance!"
The following day, January 24, 2025, he addressed border security measures with another tweet: "By reinstating successful border policies, President Trump has taken bold steps to increase the safety of all Americans. Ending catch and release and reimplementing Remain-in-Mexico will keep violent criminals off our streets."
Later that same day, Smith expressed his views on the value of human life with a tweet stating: "Every single human life has such profound value, purpose, and meaning beyond anything we can imagine. In Washington, I will never stop fighting to protect the right to life."
