This Saturday, December 17th, Ozark National Scenic Riverways will host an Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Bird counts began in 1900 as an alternative to hunting, and have continued as a holiday tradition for over 120 years. If you would like to participate, contact count organizer Steve Paes at Steve.Paes@mdc.mo.gov to sign up. Bird counters will meet in the lobby of the ONSR headquarters (404 Watercress Drive, Van Buren, MO 63965) by 8:00 am.
