A new CDC study found that among people aged 12 years and older who received an updated mRNA COVID-19 vaccine booster dose, serious adverse events were rare (33 serious adverse events reported out of more than 7 million doses given). The most commonly reported events after bivalent booster vaccination were headache, fever, fatigue, pain where the shot was given, and chills. Adverse events associated with COVID-19 boosters are less frequent and less serious than COVID-19 illness.
As winter approaches, it’s important to make sure you’re up to date on COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters.
