SENATE AMENDMENT TO THE INFLATION REDUCTION ACT OF 2022
Committee on Rules: On August 10, 2022, Full Committee held a hearing on the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5376, the ``Inflation Reduction Act of 2022''. The Committee granted, by record vote of 9-4, a rule that makes in order a motion offered by the chair of the Committee on the Budget or his designee that the House concur in the Senate amendment to H.R. 5376. The rule waives all points of order against consideration of the motion and the Senate amendment. The rule provides that the Senate amendment and the motion shall be considered as read. The rule provides three hours of debate on the motion equally divided among and controlled by the respective chairs and ranking minority members of the Committees on the Budget, Energy and Commerce, and Ways and Means, or their respective designees. Testimony was heard from Chairman Yarmuth, Chairman Pallone, and Representatives Smith of Missouri, Rodgers of Washington, Beyer, Brady, Burgess, Carter of Georgia, and Estes.
